Ivindo National Park south of Makokou covers 3000 km2, it is virgin forest, much of which has not been affected by logging. You have the choice between three hiking circuits which will allow you, depending on your availability, to discover a luxuriant and abundant flora, a varied African fauna, forest elephants, gorillas, buffaloes and a wide variety of birds.
When to hike in the Ivindo rainforest
You can choose two main periods,

How to organize your trip to Gabon to participate in our hikes

What physical and material conditions to participate in our hikes in Ivindo Park.
You must be in good physical condition to be able to endure 4 to 5 hour walks in the rainforest and accept living in the discomfort of the camps (without electricity and the river to bathe).
On the material level, you must have good equipment for hiking in the forest , walking shoes with good soles, several pairs of socks (especially in the rainy season because it is possible to get wet), long pants and light (which dries quickly), colored long-sleeved shirts, the set must be dark in color, for example green, gray, beige, brown. A poncho or light raincoat (especially in rainy seasons), a swimsuit for swimming in rivers, and a light sleeping bag for the night.
